Description:
The LVAA (Louisville Visual Art Association) is looking for interns for the Summer Term (May-August). If you are looking for a program to help you gain experience in the art industry or within a non-profit organization, the LVAA is a great place to do so. The Louisville Visual Art Association internship program is available to current students and recent graduates who wish to supplement their education and professional experience by working in a non-profit arts organization. LVAA internships offer experiential education in a challenging, hands-on environment in exchange for a substantive contribution from gifted and interested individuals. Areas of Focus include: Art Administration, Art Education, Community Arts, Curatorial/Event Planning, and Executive Assistant.
Qualifications:
Current student or recent college graduate.

LVAA engages artists and audiences through an energetic agenda of education, community outreach, artist support and exhibitions. These programs nurture creative expression and stimulate dialogue, thereby enriching contemporary culture and community spirit.
How does LVAA fulfill its mission?
In order to fulfill our mission, the LVAA provides a continuum of Visual Arts programming:
Art Education - The Childrens Fine Art Classes (CFAC) program provides opportunities for studio art instruction to visually talented students, ages 9-18. Food for Thought, adult art classes, and symposiums nurture creative expression and enhance public participation in the Visual Arts.
Community Art Outreach - The Open Doors program provides an arts enrichment experience to individuals with special needs and to those in under-served communities.
Artist Advocacy and Support Services - Offers a milieu for artistic professional growth and success. Programs and services include, Fiscal Agency, Visual Artist database, Artist Registry, Micro Loan program, Contractual Employment (CFAC instructors, Open Doors facilitators, etc.), marketing, media and sales support.
Exhibitions - The Exhibition program showcases emerging and established artists, thereby providing a Visual Art link to contemporary culture.
