Description:

Duties: Provide varied administrative support to one or more attorneys or a Managing Attorney and to others in the Staff Counsel office by applying knowledge of department policy and organization. Handle unusual situations and confidential information. Solve problems related to specific tasks with minimal supervision. Identify inconsistencies in routine work and initiate and recommend corrective action within the work group. Handle multiple demands on an on-going basis including familiar situations, sensitive information and some high level contact. Monitors and maintains compliance with Team Connect (our case management system). Qualification and Experience Requirements: High School education or GED equivalent. Associates or Bachelors degree will be preferred. 4+ years of legal administrative assistant experience, preferably in insurance defense. Knowledge of work group functions and processes beyond team boundaries. Ability to train others across team boundaries. Ability to complete professional documents utilizing basic grammar, spelling and format skills, including accurate preparation of legal pleadings, agreement letters, memoranda, reports outlines, schedules and client communications. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Internet, and other web-based applications. Intermediate to advanced communication skills including the ability to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with clients, customers and with fellow employee, handle calls in a timely manner and ability to initiate oral and written responses to routine inquiries.
