Our local Indianapolis staff is currently seeking a Case Manager Intern to join our team of professional and experienced Case Managers and office team.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, insurance claims, and Unclaimed Property Specialists are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

All applicants MUST possess the following qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelors Degree from an Accredited University
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & cloud/database applications (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.) Proficiency in retrieving, opening, and managing PDFs, such as Adobe forms
- Ability to handle multiple caseloads
- Extremely detail oriented
- Excellent English with exemplary written and verbal skills
- Bilingual and multi-lingual candidates encouraged to apply
- Professionalism
- Exceptional customer service skills, phone & email etiquette, & overall business best- practices

THE JOB
This individual will process the claims necessary to reunite owners/claimants with their unclaimed funds, and maintain business relationships and rapport with existing clients to effectively assist in recovering their unclaimed funds. He or she will work closely with other staff members to perform the initial intake, review, and data/word processing of claim inquiries using a computerized system. The selected candidate will be expected to:
• Multitask and prioritize multiple projects.
• Be highly organized with exceptional time-management skills.
• Maintain accurate records of all claim information and client communications
• Possess excellent written communication skills in order to draft cover letters, compose emails and record case notes.
• Possess excellent verbal communication skills in order to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with clients, colleagues, management, and governmental agencies.
• Be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat (with an emphasis on forms).
• Perform high-level internet research.
Ancillary responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
• Review, analyze, and extract data using Internet databases and general inquiries of claims to implement an active claim file
• The ability to perform extensive research, I.D. relevant resources, and analyze the results of such research to determine the viability of each claim
• Confirm and communicate contract obligations with claimants including a detailed explanation of the process and procedures that the LII Lost Assets Division utilizes so the claim is successfully completed
• Prep and organize files into electronic databases
• Use claim criteria to review evidence to determine if the claimant is entitled to the asset. If evidence supports ownership, prepare recommendation for approval at the next level of review that includes the prep and mailing of claim packet for claimant review and communicate with claimant throughout the process.
• If additional evidence is needed (i.e. proof of address) or the provided evidence does not support ownership, prepare and mail appropriate form letter responses
• Report and serve as liaison to Senior Case Managers on all cases including complicated cases that require in-depth research with outside vendors
• Prepares monthly status reports for review to Senior Case Manger

This is a part-time internship and versatile to move within the dynamics of a growing business.
Our spacious and newly remodeled headquarters is located in downtown Indianapolis near the Canal, IU Hospital, and Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, steps from coffee shops and dining. Free parking is available.
