Learning Center Program Assistant

Description:

The intern will participate in the development and implementation of programming at a designated learning center. Programs will focus on the development of life, social, and recreational skills as well as any themes or relevant topics the specific center and/or WARM2Kids is showcasing thru monthly programming. Intern will be responsible for a wide-range of projects including the following:

Internship Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee programs as designated by site director that include, but are not limited to, mentoring, leadership, life skill building, and the development of learning skills
• Intern will work a consistent schedule set forth by the site Director that coincides with afterschool programming held at each center.
• Meet weekly with site director to assist in the planning and implementation of programs
• Participate in a 2 hour orientation session with WARM2Kids program director that includes the following:
o Brief history of WARM
o Overview of philosophies and guidelines with regards to WARM2Kids
o Review of job descriptions and expectations
o Review of any specific dress codes, security, and protocols pertaining to site attending

• Create a weekly written report and review with WARM2Kids program director that will have the following information:
o Weekly update on what was accomplished
o Upcoming goals and objectives
o Quantitative data with regards to participation in WARM programs
- A summary on how WARM2Kids web site/programming is being implemented at the learning center.
- Complete academic project and career services paperwork (as required)
- At end of internship, intern will present a report to the Senior Staff at WARM2Kids offices on the experience as an intern, the results of programming implemented, and offer any suggestions to WARM2Kids they may have.

Qualifications:

Intern Qualifications: ALL prospective WARM2Kids interns will undergo a full CORI report that must be passed prior to any consideration for participation in the WARM2Kids intern program.

WARM2Kids seeks individuals with a strong commitment to helping teens that enjoy working in a small grass-roots company. Intern must be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work on several tasks concurrently. Ideal candidates should possess strong communications and written skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
