Vinca L. Jarrett, Esq. is an entertainment lawyer and president of FilmPro Finance, a financial consulting service for investors and producers for funding one-off films and building film slates. She has worked on many slate financing deals with banks and investment banks including CIBC, West LB, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and ICB to introduce financiers to top tiered producers with A-list packaged projects for slate financing. Her top tiered clients have included Cosmic Entertainment, APG, Icon, Focus Films and the producers of Catch Me if You Can and I Robot. FilmPro has served as the holding company for financing distribution of films that include DIE HARD 4, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, and ALIENS VS. PREDATORS. She speaks around the world on film finance addressing investors, financiers and industry professionals, and has appeared as a featured key note speaker and on panels at Cannes, Berlinale, Toronto International Film Festival, Boston Underground Film Festival, Vermont International Film Festival, Oregon Finance Conference, Turks & Caicos International Film Festival, as well as at Harvard University, MIT, Boston University, Emerson College, Boston College, UCLA, NYU and NY Film Academy. Vinca has been interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered (2011) on the economic relevance of film tax credits and appeared on Fox Business News (2010) on issues of studio financing and other news programming, as well as been featured in several film industry periodicals. She is currently writing the non-fiction work SHOW ME THE FU$#!KING MONEY: HOW TO INVEST, RAISE AND RECOUP MONEY IN THE FILM INDUSTRY. Vinca is on the Board of Directors of INTERLOCH MEDIA, a documentary film non-profit organization. She has been the Chairperson of the Arts & Entertainment Committee of the Boston Bar Association, served as Board Chair of ImprovBoston, and been a Board of Advisor to the Golden Trailer Awards. Description of Position:
We are currently looking for candidates for the Winter/Spring 2014. All students that wish to be considered for Cannes 2014 must combine the internship with either the Winter/Spring 2014 or Summer 2014 internship programs in order to qualify for school credit. Internships are unpaid, but students get invaluable experience in the entertainment business. Students that require credit for internships must apply for credit and get application information prior to applying. There is a fee for attending Cannes.

Winter/Spring 2014 Internship
Undergraduate Students will be
- Reading and Analyzing Screenplays
- Preparing One Sheet, Business Proposals and Proposing Casting
- Preparing Office for Film Festivals
- Scheduling Meetings and Communicating Regularly with Clients
- Drafting Invoices and maintaining accounting records
- Creating Newsletters and Event Invitations
- Researching Industry Data
- All students will need strong writing and organizational skills, as well as experience with computers (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Hours: Winter begins the week of January 7th and ends the last week of April in order to allow time to prepare for our Cannes departure, as well as taking exams.

In addition to these internships there are also opportunities to attend film festivals with the company. I am providing a description of the Cannes Internship, which has been ongoing for more than a decade.

Cannes Film Festival:
Dates: The tentative film festival dates are currently May 12th- 22th. If you have exams during the beginning of this period, you may request special permission to arrive or depart on a different date within the allotted time. Most schools allow you to take exams prior to leaving for Cannes or after your return. We are happy to provide the school with any information to accommodate you.

Description: Students who attend the Cannes Film Festival will gain invaluable experience in the entertainment business in the following ways:
- Managing meeting schedules: Setting up and scheduling meeting times and locations
- Organizing various social events with existing and prospective clients
- Acquiring invitations to attend various networking events and parties with the company
- Meetings with industry professionals
- Acquiring tickets and attending red carpet and movie screenings
- Identifying and recruiting prospective clients
- Taking potential client meetings, explaining FilmPro’s services and evaluating clients’ projects
- Attending important client meetings on current projects
- Attend Films Screenings
- Attend Business lunches and dinners
Fees: The Cannes internship has a fee currently of five thousand five hundred dollars ($5,500), which covers interns accommodations and festival market badge, as well as all meals taken with the company. Cannes interns are expected to work approximately 20 hours in the office prior to departure to Cannes, and up to 10 hours upon return. Payment is due along with your acceptance. The fee does not include airfare, meals not taken with the company or any other incidentals. There are no refunds of the fee under any circumstances.

Pay: There are no paid internships at FilmPro Finance and the Law Offices of Vinca Jarrett. Forms for credit programs and permission to participate from your school must be obtained prior to interviewing if you are seeking credit, and students should be prepared to disclose fully the rules and oversight required by the Firm to maintain the credit program, including the name and number of any supervisor for the internship program for that student.
