Advanced Naturalist Internship-Wildlife/Animal Care Focus Area

As an intern at the Audubon Center of the North Woods you will have the opportunity to gain teaching experience and expand on knowledge of natural history. You will gain a better idea of what it takes to run a residential environmental learning center, and participate in wildlife rehabilitation, and working with our conferences & retreats.

Wildlife Focus Area Intern Duties include:
• Environmental and adventure education instruction to large and small groups
• Serving as a liaison for school and weekend groups
• Duties in the following focus area: Wildlife/Animal Care
• Program and curriculum development
• Willing and able to work long hours including many weekends
• General maintenance of living quarters and center grounds
• Administrative tasks

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
• Hold a BA or BS degree
• 21 years of age or older
• Experience in working with children in an educational outdoor setting
• Experience working with/training birds/mammals
• Able to work without supervision and are self-motivated
• Knowledge of, or interest in, the natural and cultural history of Minnesota
• Fun, out-going personality and a good sense of humor

$80/week
