Advanced Naturalist Internship-Wildlife/Animal Care Focus Area
Description:
As an intern at the Audubon Center of the North Woods you will have the opportunity to gain teaching experience and expand on knowledge of natural history. You will gain a better idea of what it takes to run a residential environmental learning center, and participate in wildlife rehabilitation, and working with our conferences & retreats.Wildlife Focus Area Intern Duties include:
• Environmental and adventure education instruction to large and small groups
• Serving as a liaison for school and weekend groups
• Duties in the following focus area: Wildlife/Animal Care
• Program and curriculum development
• Willing and able to work long hours including many weekends
• General maintenance of living quarters and center grounds
• Administrative tasks
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Hold a BA or BS degree
• 21 years of age or older
• Experience in working with children in an educational outdoor setting
• Experience working with/training birds/mammals
• Able to work without supervision and are self-motivated
• Knowledge of, or interest in, the natural and cultural history of Minnesota
• Fun, out-going personality and a good sense of humor
