2012 Sales Internship

NPPC and Nestle Retail Operations team is currently seeking undergraduate students with a strong interest in a career in sales, to fill their sales internship opportunities nationwide. The Sales Internship Program offers students a great way to learn retail sales objectives focusing on the 4 Ps of marketing – Product, Place, Price and Promotion. As a sales intern, you will be assigned a number of retail stores that you will be responsible for making sales calls. You will manage a sales territory, which includes in-store merchandising, recording sales information, managing the administration of expenses, analyzing sales reports, and sales presentation development. The items below are just a quick snapshot of this exciting and accelerated 10-week internship program:

RESPONSIBILITIES/PROJECTS:

• Develop knowledge, awareness and understanding of the Consumer Products and Pet Care industries, the brands, the consumer, and competitors.
• Identify and analyze segment trends that build incremental sales volume
• Learn and practice selling skills
• Merchandise and optimize product placement at store-level
• Monitor competitive activity
• Participate in Marketing and Customer events that strengthen our brands and market share
• Cultivate internal and external working relationships that provide exposure to multi-disciplines, account management and customer teams

This internship will provide you with real life experiences of a full time sales position at Nestle Purina. During your internship you will be provided significant coaching and mentoring to grow your skills and knowledge. Based on your performance as an intern and the needs of the business, this internship can lead to a full-time sales position, as well as future roles in business analysis, account management and leadership.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing a BS/BA Degree required

• Student who is current junior standing who will have a graduation date 6-14 months after completion of the internship program. (Student must have a graduation date between December 2012 – August 2013).

• Must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA

• Available to work May 21, 2012 – July 27, 2012 (10 complete, uninterrupted weeks)

• Access to a car, have a valid driver’s license, have insurance coverage’s of $100,000/$300,000/$50,000

• Able to reside/work in one of the designated cities (see list below)

• Able to perform physical activity requiring the lifting of 55 pounds

• Must have intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Leadership in extra-curricular activity/organization preferred

• Must be willing to relocate to any Nestlé location upon successful completion of the internship program, conferring of degree and being extended a full-time offer
