CHECKMARK COMMUNICATIONS PROFILE:
CheckMark Communications is a creative communications and design agency, customized and committed to the needs of Nestlé Purina PetCare brands. It operates from a stand-alone facility at the Nestle Purina Headquarters campus, and employs approximately 100 communications professionals who work on over 2,000 creative assignments per year.
CheckMark offers internship opportunities in Art Direction, Copywriting, Client Service and Public Relations. Our interns work on agency teams assigned to client brand business. They get a taste of our in-house agency model, where close proximity and immersion in client brands result in relevant and distinctive creative communications.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Client Service Interns will assist account directors with project management, consumer research interpretation, billing, competitive analysis and special projects. They will partner with our account management teams who will show them firsthand the value of having close access to clients and involvement in brand-building processes. Our interns get an opportunity to participate in project startups, concept development, client presentation and consumer research exercises. They may observe some of the production process, as well.
Successful interns have a passion for the strategy and execution of effective and brilliant creative communications. They work well in teams and exude a willingness to do whatever it takes to help their team, while learning as much as possible.

Client Service Interns assist Account Directors as described in the Position Summary above and more specifically below:
1. Attend status meetings/observe and interact in internal agency meetings.
2. Produce estimates and internal timelines.
3. Proof read materials.
4. Schedule meetings.
5. Write conference reports to document job-related action and decisions.
6. Gather new insights through research, analyze existing source information, and provide competitive analysis that provides background, context and creative stimuli for project start-ups.
7. Other special projects based on current business needs.
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in areas of or related to Journalism, Marketing, Advertising or Communications.
• Must be of at least Junior or Senior status returning to school upon completion of the internship with an expected graduation date between Fall/Winter 2012 through Spring/Summer 2013.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks in St. Louis, MO during the summer of 2012.SKILLS:
Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word document preparation.
