EarthDance sustainably grows food, farmers, and community, one small farm at a time, through hands-on education and delicious experiences. EarthDance seeks to realize needed change in our nation’s food system by engaging individuals from all walks of life in sustainable agriculture. Volunteers at EarthDance assist with fresh food production, youth programs, community education, and administrative tasks that build the organization’s capacity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our community. EarthDance’s tours educate community members about the value of organic farming, and serve as an entry point to deeper engagement with the organization’s mission. EarthDance’s Volunteer & Tour Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the reciprocal value of the volunteer program for its participants and EarthDance, and for educating the general public about EarthDance’s mission during tours. Specific responsibilities are detailed below.

Roles and responsibilities include:
Monitoring and continually refining EarthDance’s volunteer management system
Conducting outreach in person and virtually to recruit diverse groups and individuals to serve as volunteers and to educate the public about all EarthDance opportunities
Coordinating volunteer activities on the farm and at special events
Leading volunteer orientations and directing volunteers during service events
Following up with volunteer groups and individuals to build lasting volunteer relationships
Serving as a liaison to organizations that engage in service with EarthDance regularly
Tracking volunteer participation
Updating EarthDance’s volunteer management manual
Scheduling tours
Providing tours to the public
Recruiting and training volunteer tour docents
Assisting the AmeriCorps Youth Educator as needed with youth field trips
Tracking tour attendance

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree
Experience as a volunteer

Paid Internship Info:

Approximately $900 per month after taxes

Additional Info:

This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position. AmeriCorps members receive a monthly living allowance, a health-care reimbursement, education award of $5500, and may qualify for child care benefits as well.
