Description:

The candidate serves as Lead Compliance Counsel for Alliance Management and US Corporate and Government Customers Groups and serve as primary/lead counsel supporting US Trade Group. Reports to Chief Counsel, Senior VP and Associate General Counsel. Develop (in conjunction with Chief Counsel and Senior Alliance Management Counsel) a comprehensive compliance plan to ensure knowledge, understanding and compliance with health care laws and company policies and procedures for the management of Strategic Alliances including: annual cross-BU training for attorneys and business teams to ensure understanding and implementation of the compliance plan; regular reviews and updates working with the business unit chief counsel and their teams; liaison with business transactions/L&D team and other legal platforms to ensure; consistency in approach and collaboration on resources; liaison with corporate compliance; and primary legal contact for alliance management audits. Primary legal support for U.S. Trade Group. Provide transactional support including counseling the team on companys Terms of Conditions for retail sales (pharmacies, wholesalers, distributors) as well as the drafting and negotiation of distributor arrangements, collaborations arrangements and pharmacy adherence program agreements. Assess process of approval for Trade transactions and ensure abiding by CGC approval processes. Provide legal training to Trade colleagues. Qualification and Experience The candidate should have a J.D. or equivalent degree and be a member of a State Bar of New York or equivalent. Must have 7+ years of legal experience with 5+ years of healthcare law experience with strong emphasis in the area of strategic alliances and managed care. Should have strong understanding of the fraud & abuse laws and the retail payer market. Must have strong background in the drafting and negotiation of complex contracts. Pharmaceutical or related industry experience strongly preferred.
