Internship Scotland offers a unique internship program for college students to learn about and work with a production company at the world-renowned Edinburgh Festival. During July, interns participate in a four-week course that prepares them to carry out the myriad of activities associated with producing, promoting and managing an Edinburgh Festival show. The programme is taught by professionals from the top-ten Festival Production and media companies.In August, interns play a key role in facilitating the smooth running of their production during the Festival. Roles will include; reading, analysing and improving scripts; reporting on and writing reviews; observing rehearsals; participating in educational programmes and networking events; working with the press to market shows; and participating in event-monitoring and control and stage crew.
Internship Scotland is a member of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and the respected Federation of Small Businesses based in London and Edinburgh. We have strong links with the universities in Edinburgh.
We are supported by Scottish Development International’s Boston office, situated just north of Quincy Market. Enrolment and screening interviews (conducted via Skype) will be taking place in February and March for the 2010 programme.
Qualifications:
Who is it for?•Students who are currently enroled in an undergraduate college or univerlsity outside of the United Kingdom.
•Students wishing to enhance their resume and employment prospects by gaining international work experience.
•Students wishing to learn more about Scotland.
•Students who may be considering further education in one of Scotlands leading institutions after college.
•Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by start of programme.
