Human Resources Intern Position

POSITION SUMMARY:
A Human Resources Intern is responsible for assisting with our Human Resources/Operations Manager in the area of recruiting, training and maintaining the company’s new, active and terminated employees. This person will also help to develop and implement new HR policies, and conduct research to find if we are in compliance with state and federal regulations. We are looking to fulfill this position for the Fall 2012.

Human Resources Intern should be/demonstrate:
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements/descriptions
- Establish and conduct employee orientations and training programs
- Maintain benefit programs for all employees
- Maintain historical human resource records by updating and filing past and current records
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements
- Maintain human resources staff by assisting with recruiting, selecting, orienting and training of employees

COMPENSATION/EVALUATIONS:
A Human Resources Intern is a part-time unpaid position available for college credit.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Good communication skills with employees
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of laws and regulations
• Ability to contribute to team effort
• Strong phone skills with the ability to talk to employees
