Brand Marketing Assistant Intern - Mediterranean Snack Food Co.

The Mediterranean Snack Food Company (www.mediterraneansnackfoods.com) is a rapidly growing (privately held) natural snack food company looking for a Brand Marketing Assistant Intern. The ideal candidate should bring enthusiasm and dedication to perform a “case study” of an existing line of products and present it to the company’s executives at the end of the internship. We are looking for a candidate with past experience in marketing or advertising, design and brand communications. Candidates should be energetic and committed to the success of their project.

Location: Northern New Jersey
May be able to work from home or another remote location.
Length of internship: from mid-May to end of August.

Job Responsibilities:

 Build a strategy and outline tactics for a future re-launch of an existing line of products:

- Training with the Marketing Department to help you better understand the line of products you will be working on.
- Perform category research and competitive analysis.
- Research and identify the target audience for the line.
- Identify the right flavors for the products and sizes for the packaging.
- Evaluate and recommend changes for pricing, packaging, and website.
- Create and develop a core message for the line.
- Build a promotion plan around:
o Creative ideas for consumer programs.
o Social Media campaign.
o PR and media attention.
- Visit stores where the products are on the shelves.
- Create and analyze the results of polls and interviews.
- Report to your supervisor and work in the office one or two days per week.

Key Objective is to be in charge of creating a successful marketing launch plan.

Minimum requirements:
- College Graduate or current MBA student.
- Computer skills in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook, Photoshop and In Design a plus.
- Previous experience in marketing, and/or advertising, and/or brand design is imperative.
- Previous experience in Food/Beverage industry a plus.
- Natural leader and outgoing personality.

- Compensation: will be commensurate with experience.
