Job Description: Long/short equity hedge fund based in Midtown Manhattan seeking interns to assist the portfolio manager and equity analysts. Internship consists of a mixture of quantitative and computer driven analysis of equities, including using Bloomberg and other data sources to create lists of stocks to be examined further, and various projects related to the further examination of these stocks. This financial work is combined with the usual intern grunt work related to office management and administration that has to be done. Some level of experience using Excel is highly desirable. Interns here are given a lot of responsibility, often interact directly with the portfolio manager, and learn a lot about how hedge funds work; and if a solid job is done, get a personal reference from the PM. This is a FULL-TIME position, so you should only apply if you are able to make a commitment to work Monday thru Friday, 9-7:30. While some adjustment to these hours is possible to accomodate a conflicting schedule, THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY OF WORKING PART-TIME. Looking for people who have recently graduated or are about to graduate: who are able to intern and then go directly into a full-time position without needing to go back to school.Qualifications: Must be at least a sophomore in college. Must have minimum GPA of 3.2. Please include any standardized test scores in your cover letter or resume. Strong analytical and communication skills. Energetic people who are self-starters. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
