Brief Project Description:
The intern will work at the NYC Business Solutions - Lower Manhattan Center Financing team. The NYC Business Solutions, Lower Manhattan Center is located in the Financial District. The Financing team coordinates and manages a suite of no cost services for entrepreneurs and existing businesses seeking financing in NYC. Some of these services include: licenses and permits, business planning coaching, pro-bono attorney and accountant assistance, and access to financing alternatives. The intern will be able to develop skills on: customer service/needs assessment, CRM On Demand software, and team management.

Specific activities and responsibilities:
I. Provide customer service through phone and in-person
II. Pre-screening and assessment for client needs
III. Internal and external referral coordination for further assistance
IV. Track client interactions and outcomes using customer relationship management software
V. Loan packaging support
VI. Research of events to source client pipeline
VII. Support the coordination of workshops and/or panels towards existing and potential clients

Qualifications:

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent phone and communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in both team settings and individually
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task a complex workload
- Ability to follow instructions and provide feedback and new ideas to improve team productivity
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office
- Previous Database Management Reporting, CRM, on any sales tracking system experience is a plus
- Familiar with small businesses, financing, or accounting is a plus
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish or Chinese is a plus
- Appropriate office attire required
