Fall Program Internships
Description:
Free Arts NYC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing under-served children and families with a unique combination of educational arts and mentoring programs that help them to foster the self-confidence and resiliency needed to realize their fullest potential. With the help of dedicated and caring volunteer mentors, Free Arts NYC delivers creative arts programs directly to low income, homeless, abused and neglected children.We partner with group homes, shelters, schools and community centers to give children the opportunity to express themselves in a supportive environment in order to develop communication and trust. Our programs and the relationships they foster help children and families experience new levels of hope and creativity.
Each Internship is paired with one of our core arts mentoring program areas:
-Free Arts Day Program
-Parents and Children Together with Art Program
-Weekly Mentor Program
-Volunteer Coordination
-Art Materials Coordination
To view complete descriptions of each of these internships, please visit: http://www.freeartsnyc.org/about/joblistings.aspIn addition to the primary responsibilities indicated in the specific program internship descriptions, all Program Interns will contribute to organizing and distributing art supplies, filing enrollment forms and other program-related documents, preparing for trainings and meetings, running occasional errands and assisting with administrative tasks associated with the day-to-day operation of a specific program.
Program Interns are expected to commit to a regular weekly schedule in the office to be determined by your Supervisor. In addition, Program Interns are encouraged to engage in direct service with our Free Arts NYC kids and families by volunteering in one or more of our programs as we believe that the combination of working behind the scenes at our offices AND in the field in our programs creates the highest quality internship we can offer.
Qualifications:
Free Arts accepts high school, undergraduate and graduate students as Program Internship candidates.
