Description:

We are a small local CPA service firm. We are looking to hire an intern to assist various accounting and financial management tasks. You will be working directly with the CPAs.

Responsibilities:
• Assist month-end closing of client books, compile financial statements.
• Assist the CPA in performing comprehensive tax analysis.
• Prepare/update tax filing package materials for 2011 tax season.
• Perform research on various tax topics, develop case studies, and present summary of findings to the CPAs.
• Perform market research and develop market approach to attract new clients, including marketing out-reach activities in the community.

Duration & Benefits:
This is a three month non-paid internship. Stipends will be given for marketing out-reach activities.

At the end of the internship, the CPA will provide a thorough reference letter, detailing your work experiences and recommendations to your future employer. Previous interns have successfully obtained full-time employment upon reference check with the CPA.

Qualifications:

• Must have taken basic tax and accounting courses (please list courses taken on your resume)
• Familiar with basics of individual tax return 1040, S corporation return form 1120s, and Partnership Return Form 1065
• Excel skills, able to use various excel functions for data minding.
• Professional demeanor, with the desire to learn and achieve
• Problem solver
• Fluent in English and Chinese, able to read and write in Chinese is a plus, but not required.
• CPA candidate is a plus, but not required.
