JOB STATEMENT/SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Manager, Special Events the Department Intern is responsible for providing administrative support to the Manager, Special Events and the VP of Resource Development. The position offers an opportunity to learn first-hand how to organize events that are geared toward fundraising.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Manager, Special Events, the Department Intern is expected to perform each essential duties of this position in a satisfactory manner. The Department Intern will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• To assist with all administrative duties in relation to the day to day operation of the department, including data entry, filing, faxing, photocopying, typing, phone calls, create and implement organizational systems, etc.
• Prepare copies of all press/collateral materials for solicitations and acknowledgements.
• Provide research and help with preparation of mailings for special events fundraisers.
• Help with organization, inventory and maintain event props, giveaways and collateral materials.
• Helping staff events as needed.
• Help with database management.
• Assist with the execution of special events projects.
• Interact with all necessary internal departments in support of events and projects.
• To support the Manager, Special Events on special department projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience:
• Currently enrolled/attending college and/or master’s program. Some work or volunteer experience in an office setting. Job is part-time and approximately 20 – 35 hours per week.

Specific Skills:
• Good interpersonal, verbal, writing, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team oriented environment and handle multiple tasks
• Strong computer skills, attention to detail.
