Web Developer/Graphic Designer - Intern

The Cristian Rivera Foundation—a New York-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and finding a cure for Pontine Glioma, a pediatric brain stem tumor—is seeking an dedicated, self-motivated web developer/graphic design intern who will be able to work in a fast paced environment. You’ll be working out of our offices in Midtown Manhattan for 4-5 hours a day, five days a week, for 3-6 months.Responsibilities include maintaining and updating web content, designing web/print marketing materials, and continuously improving the user experience of our website, cristianriverafoundation.org. The ideal candidate will have experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript and simple action-scripting); back-end development using technologies such as PHP and MySQL; and the Adobe CS3 suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design and Flash).

The Cristian Rivera Foundation is focused on finding a cure for Pontine Glioma through awareness and clinical research program funding. Pontine Glioma generally affects children between the ages of 1 and 9, with the average lifespan of a child after diagnosis falling between three and 18 months. Only 300 cases are discovered in the United States each year. There is no cure so, sadly, there are also no survivors.
