Join our movementSuccess Academy Charter Schools is a fast growing not-for-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO) that operates nine public charter elementary and middle schools throughout New York City (with three additional school openings planned for August 2012). Over the next decade, our network will grow to 40 schools that provide a phenomenal K-8 public education to NYC school children. Our dual mission is to:

Forever alter the educational prospects for all public school children by creating a “tipping point” – moving a nation where educational failure is the norm to a nation that expects high-quality public school options for all childrenWe are seeking Summer Teaching Fellows who are results-oriented, relentless and take a “Beyond Z” approach to teaching rigorous, engaging and high quality instruction.
Responsibilities
Ideal fellows are either recent college graduates or career changers who want to make a 6-week commitment this summer. There are two cohorts: One Fellowship will start in early June and conclude in mid-July. The second Fellowship cohort will start in mid-July and conclude at the end of August. This is a full time position, as we run an extended school day.

Qualifications:
Our Success Academy Teaching Fellow must have an undergraduate degree and no formal teaching experience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership potential and has had previous internships and volunteer experiences.• Stamina. Ability to handle the intensity required to work in a high-performing charter school.
• Accountability. Ensure you are there every day for training and for our scholars.
• Self-Reflection. Ability to accept and implement feedback received for real-time improvement.
• Collaboration. Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Beyond Z Attitude. Willingness to go above and beyond the requirements of the job in order to be innovative and support the organization.
• Extraordinary Attention to Detail. Thinks critically about the details of a task at hand.
• Dedication to Mission. A genuine interest in finding ways to improve education and support our schools.

Compensation
$4,050 stipend for an intensive 6-week training program.
