Digital Communications Internship
Description:
If you have a talent for writing, an interest in social media and a passion for communications, Jewelers of America, the national association for businesses serving the fine jewelry retail marketplace, wants you!Jewelers of America’s Digital Communications Internship is a semester-long program consisting of communications assignments combined with mentorship and skill development. The Digital Communications Intern will assist our Communications Team with projects ranging from maintaining and updating website content, social media and blog content development and digital marketing outreach. The internship will give a savvy student communications and marketing experience needed to build a competitive résumé.
The Digital Communications Intern will receive exposure to a variety of departments as he or she works with Jewelers of America’s Communications Team, including the Communications Director, Communications Manager, Web & Digital Media Coordinator, Director of Marketing and Associate Director of Public Affairs.
Qualifications:
•Help keep web content current by adding or removing content and graphics as necessary for two websites with unique target audiences: Jewelers of America’s www.jewelers.org and Jewelry Information Center’s www.JIC.org
•Assist in generating reports for website trends and traffic
•Update both JA and JIC’s social media feeds (Facebook and Twitter) based on content schedule
•Prepare and send digital communications to various target audiences monthly
•Graphics editing as necessaryBeneficial Skills:
•Excellent writing and editing skills
•Detailed oriented, energetic, and self-starter
•Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines
•Some experience with HTML and willing to learn online Content Management Platforms
•Proficient in all forms of Social Media including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.com
•Comfortable with photo editing software, like PhotoshopCriteria for Participation:
•Applicants must be an undergraduate students enrolled in college or university to participate in the summer internship program.
