Lois Cohn Associates is a boutique PR firm that handles cultural and lifestyle clients, with an emphasis on classical musicians and the arts. Specializing in media relations, our staff is comprised of a dedicated and diverse team of professionals who have longstanding relationships with editors, writers and producers in print, broadcast and electronic media. Lois Cohn Associates is committed to providing maximum service to a select number of clients, and has generated key coverage in national, international and regional media outlets. Clients include orchestras, cultural institutions, dance and theater companies, arts festivals and performing artists. The company also specializes in publicity for Benefits and Galas, as well as the opening of new or expanded cultural facilities such as Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, The Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College, The Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis, The Peter Norton Symphony Space, and the Kaufman Center in New York City.As an intern at Lois Cohn Associates, you will work with a staff of publicists on a variety of projects, providing you with professional training in the public relations/music industry business. Intern responsibilities are varied, and include: researching potential media leads and contacts, documenting and maintaining records of our clients daily press coverage, updating and augmenting press plans, and some general office work. Qualifications:
The internship is paid, with a bi-weekly stipend provided, and can be completed for school credit. We are looking for people who are motivated and can work in a fast-paced environment, with publicity and public relations experience a plus. Hours are flexible, so we can work with your school schedule – however, in order to be considered, applicants must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week (Monday through Friday) between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.Lois Cohn Associates is currently looking for a summer 2012 intern (June-August).
