Fall 2012/ Spring 2013 – Art Advisory and Appraisal Research Intern
Description:
Active full service curatorial firm in New York City is seeking an intern for Fall 2012/Spring 2013. The internship is flexible at 2-3 days per week.Intern will work closely with lead art advisor on collection management and appraisal research. S/he will gain exposure to the practicalities of the art world, including marketplace analysis, object valuation, and cataloguing standards. This is an opportunity to work within a private firm specializing in Contemporary Art.
Intern will assist in:
- Collection cataloguing
- Art market research
- Social media initiatives (Website and blog updates, Facebook, Twitter)
- Exhibition coordinatingCourse credit for internship possible. Internship to start immediately and will run until the end of Spring term 2013.
Qualifications:
Current college or graduate student with a strong focus and interest in art history, fine art or visual culture studies. Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, computer savvy, self-motivated and able to work independently. Excellent communication and organizational skills necessary.
