Social Network Marketing Internship

Quentins Friends is at an exciting place in its evolution. Having recently closed a small round of funding it is gearing up to significantly improve and increase member benefits and events in New York City, before beginning to launch QF in other cities in the US and internationally. To assist with these initiatives and with running the community day-to-day QF is seeking 1-3 interns.

Opportunity:
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to gain valuable hands on, real world experience, build their resume and enhance their future employability &/or entrepreneurial potential by:
- working closely with and learning from the British founder, who has over 20 years of international experience in business, marketing, branding, advertising, PR, promotions, digital and social media. He has worked with both start-ups and top companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Hilton, Coca-Cola, American Express and top advertising and interactive agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather.
- experiencing a dynamic, fun and energetic start-up environment and learning all aspects of running and growing an online/offline community.
- developing invaluable business and communications skills.
- cultivating a wide range of business relationships.

The Intern(s) will be mainly focused on:
- Social Media: Managing SM presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google+, YouTube etc.
- Events: Creation, coordination and hosting of events
- Competitive research and analysis
- Member Engagement/Activation: Review of existing member communication & creation of new curated content, newsletters, surveys, poles, competitions, member tips etc.
- Member Solutions/Support.
- General administration.

In addition the interns will support the founder and other team members with:
- Improving overall membership value proposition including growing benefits platform.
- Improvements to website look & feel and usability.
- Development of new features and improvements for the website.
- Development and launch of Charity Partnerships & Members Project programs.
- PR
- Fund raising/Financing.

Qualifications:

While a business or communications major or MBA would be ideal, we encourage those with other qualifications to apply.


Essential Skills:
- Technically savvy/confident.
- Creative thinker.
- Good listener and strong communicator.
- Perfect English with excellent writing skills.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Mind mapping a plus.
- Highly organized/rigorous with strong attention to detail.
- Team player.

Personality:
Given the community values (Honesty, Integrity, Courtesy, Respect, Fun, Open-mindedness and a Sense of Humor) and our non-violent communication style, a calm, patient, friendly, outgoing, confident and cheerful personality is vital - in any communications (verbal or written) with members or partners, the intern will be representing Quentins Friends.

Experience:
Ideally candidates will have some experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Social Media (e.g. creation of a Facebook page, Twitter strategy).
- Event planning and organization.
- Business/Marketing Strategy.
- Customer service/support.
- Digital/Website development
- Mobile Marketing &/or Technology
- Mobile/Online user experience.
- Website analytics -.e.g. Google Analytics
