Austin Consulting Services (ACS) is an independently owned personal development consultancy that is currently seeking one (1) Operations Intern for a minimum of six (6) and a maximum of twelve (12) weeks in 2013. Under the supervision and training of ACS Principal, Tracy E. Austin, the Operations Intern will assist with various administrative tasks and projects. This ACS internship is paid and predominantly virtual in nature. Interns are expected to log ten (10) hours per week and will be paid $7.75 per hour for every twenty (20) hours logged. Eight (8) work hours per month are on site. The date, time, and location regarding “on-site hours” are determined based on mutual convenience and upcoming deadlines. Please note the first week of the internship is a trial period. The Operations Intern is unpaid during the first week (or first 10 work hours) as his/her work ethic and work product are assessed during this period for accuracy and overall suitability. Start Date: January 2013

Responsibilities:
• Data entry
• Assist with the creation and implementation of a supply inventory system.
• Perform research on vendors and prepare cost benefit analysis.
• Design and develop accounts payable tracking database.
• General administrative duties as required (e.g. filing, copying, mailing, faxing).
• Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
• Handle multiple tasks at once.
• Excellent organizational skills, thorough, having an eye for details
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience and knowledge of finance and accounting preferred
• Ability to work independently and adhere to tight deadlines.

Preferred:
• Very knowledgeable of the New York, North Carolina, and Washington, DC areas
• College senior or Graduate Student majoring in English, Public Administration, or Business
