Description:

OPERA NEWS seeks an intern to work directly with the publisher and editorial staff to help in all facets of modern magazine production. The ideal candidate will be a college student or high school senior who is interested in opera and has a desire to work in music publishing for the largest-circulation classical-music magazine in North America.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

• researching editorial projects
?• helping to upload and format content on our website
?• assisting in the creation of advertising packets
?• performing administrative duties as needed

Qualifications:

We’re looking for someone with an ability to function independently, a serious work ethic, a knack for problem solving and familiarity with basic computer programs. Editing or previous publishing experience is a plus.

Interns would be expected to work a set schedule of 3 to 4 days per week at about 20 hours per week in our office in New York during the fall term. The internship is unpaid but can be eligible for school credit.
