Sales/Marketing Intern
Description:
Interns will train in business development strategies. Interns will be responsible for building rapport with WorkPlace Media associates at all levels of the company. Through the internship program candidates will build skills in business development process, research, analysis, target selection, building relationships, and in confidently delivering presentations. Candidates will also attend and participate in networking events, training, one-on-one meetings with the executive team. Candidates will also be involved in learning various aspects of the meeting planning process as they work hand-in-hand with the department staff in coordinating all aspects of the meeting planning process including site selection, travel arrangements, developing meeting materials, onsite coordination, and much more.LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:
The WorkPLace Media interns will gain real world experience, as well as contacts in retail, restaurant, CPG and media industries.. This internship is unpaid but structured to give the Interns maximum exposure to business strategy, with our goal being to provide the Interns with solid experience that will help the interns find paid work for their talents.
In addition to the business development and operational skills gained, interns are responsible for specific projects structured to meet their personal and professional interests and skills while also fulfilling company needs. Through this internship, ideal candidates will gain valuable knowledge and assistance on transitioning into corporate America and the sales/marketing industry.
Qualifications:
Current undergrad or graduate student with a major in Marketing, Business, Business Administration, or related field. Candidates must be passionate, confident, responsible, detail-oriented, dedicated to self improvement, able to communicate well, able to connect with prospects easily, as well as have a positive can-do attitude. Ideal candidate will be confident and able to express themselves clearly and professionally. Must have a 3.0 GPA, work a minimum of 20 hours per week, proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel, ability to learn computer programs easily, must have good people and phone skills, Outgoing, organized, multi-task, able to work without supervision and reliable. The ability to multi-task and work under pressure is essential to the success of the applicant.
