The NephCure Foundation is the only organization solely committed to seeking a cause and cure for two potentially devastating kidney conditions, Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Our goal is to help science unlock the biological mechanisms that cause these serious conditions and ultimately to find a way to cure and prevent them.

The NephCure Foundation is seeking a Health Education & Research Intern to assist our “Research and Education Manager.” This position is ideal for a dedicated, detail-oriented student between sophomore and senior year in college.

Intern will be expected to assist with:
• Marketing research opportunities globally that will expand the support and maintain the momentum of Nephrotic Syndrome research in the scientific community.
• Translating medical terminology to lay language for web site and other marketing communication.
• Organizing, managing and marketing educational programs including educational seminars called “Lunch & Learns”
• Administrative Tasks
• Becoming familiar with the research funding database and budget
• Identifying innovative and effective programming initiatives as a way to reach a broader population of those with FSGS and NS, as well as identifying industry trends, up-to-date scientific literature, websites, partnerships and opportunities that enhance the mission of the organization.
• Working with a variety of institutions, organizations, NIH and their respective structures.
• Cultivating positive relationships with volunteer leadership.

Past interns have been an influential part in the planning of educational “Lunch and Learns” for our clients, among many other similar tasks.

Skills: Applicants must have strong knowledge of biology, physiology or anatomy and posses effective communication skills. Job requires creative thinking, vision and multi task proficiency. Applicant should be committed, versatile, solution oriented with a high-energy personality.

Hours/ Credit: A commitment of 15 hours a week are required, but 20 hours are strongly encouraged to gain a broader sense of the company as well as our clients. Depending on school policies, 3-6 credits can be awarded for this position. This position is unpaid.
Fall internships begin September 6th and run through December 9th.
