What Our Interns Have to Say:

“My time with Kallos for City Council has been a tremendous learning experience. I’ve had the opportunity to attend press conferences and clinics specific to my interests, organize a fundraising event, and recruit new interns and volunteers. With Kallos for City Council, I have never found myself going on a coffee run or making copies – I am out in the community, learning about New York City politics and working to improve our city.” – Taylor Digby, New York University Class of 2014

“My time working at Kallos for Council was both inspiring and educational. I was working on real aspects of a political campaign such as managing campaign contributions, organizing fundraisers, and increasing social media reach on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr to help generate thousands in donations.” – Andrew Frank, Baruch College, Class of 2014

“The experience of working with Team Ben has been vastly different than most other internship programs because the team works to engage interns on a highly individual basis. The 20% project has allowed me not just to explore the topic of affordable housing, an issue that has long been of particular importance to me, but it has allowed me to have a more in-depth understanding of the issue itself. I have also begun to understand what it takes to appeal to voters, which is the most fundamental building-block of the political process. It has been a hands-on learning experience, a valuable foray into the world of politics.” – Brian Zimmerman, Oberlin College Class of 2015

“What makes this internship so unique is the freedom that it gives you to pursue your own interests and actually make a direct impact on the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island communities. I’ve never experienced an internship that allows you to pursue a policy that you’re interested in and promote it at a citywide level.” – Tim Gumaer, New York University Class of 2014
