North Suffolk Mental Health Association’s Department of Compliance, Quality Management, and Human Rights, is a fast-paced, multifaceted, environment responsible for a myriad of activities within the organization. The department is looking for an energetic, adaptable, 16 – 24 hour/week intern who is willing to learn, works both autonomously and collaboratively, has advanced computer and writing skills, and who has a high standard for confidentiality and discretion. This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of sociology, psychology, political science, anthropology, and the like.Intern responsibilities may include:
• Assisting with completion of annual satisfaction surveys with internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting QM staff with completion of physical site program audits and chart program audits
• Assisting the Human Rights Coordinator with internal human rights and complaint investigations
• Collecting, recording, and analyzing program indicator and incident data
• Becoming knowledgeable about and providing technical support to staff around either ISP (DDS) or IAP (DMH) documentation processes
• Providing support with data entry accuracy
• Overseeing the quarterly QM newsletter
• Researching HIPAA, PHI, Compliance, and other subjects as needed to assist in agency policy and procedure updates
• Assisting QM staff with other projects as needed
• Adhering to all NSMHA policies around confidentially, standards of staff professionalism, and training requirementsOur offices are located in Chelsea, MA, a short walk from various MBTA Bus Routes (111 to Haymarket and 114/116/117 to Maverick) and the Chelsea Commuter Rail Station. Some local travel required. Use of personal vehicle preferred but not required.
