Description:

Description of Duties: Create print-ready collaterals for the Art League as needed, such as: brochures, flyers, posters, calendars, artist postcards, event invitations, business cards, letterhead, and more. Designs for electronic media for websites (mastheads and ads) and powerpoint presentations might also be requested, so familiarity to how to publish to an electronic format would be a requirement.

Work Hours: Flexible, As Needed. Can work from home or the Art League of HH Office.
Total Hours Per Week: 10-15
Educational Requirements: 3rd or 4th year college student in the graphic design field
Skills:
 Artistic sensibility: Knowledge about design elements, such as color and composition, proper design rules, design placement, wording, etc. Understanding selecting the right fronts, colors, lines, and picture(s) to create a balanced composition that conveys the message effectively, without clutter or visual pollution or over-stimulation.
 Technical Skills: Proficient graphic design skills using CS3 Adobe Create Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, etc.) and/or other leading design programs. A general interest in computers and an aptitude for learning new technology is beneficial. Good proof reading skills, spelling and grammar. Use of Microsoft Office, Facebook, LinkedIn, Powerpoint, and other leading electronic media. Understanding print-ready formats, graphic file transfers, and different graphic file formats.
 Communication Skills: Ability to communicate well when working through the design process. To effectively present ideas, both verbally and visually. To keep communications organized, systematic, and time sensitive.
 Organization: Key to this position is the ability to quickly grasp the design idea and develop it. A fast turn-around is key to this position. A self-starter, who loves graphic design and takes pride in the finished product. This person must be organized and have the ability to stay on task and meet deadlines.
Special Requirements: 2+ years of graphic design coursework completed. Minimum overall GPA of 3.25. Academic recommendation needed, and samples of work provided.
