This is an exciting writing, blogging and press release internship with a full service marketing firm. We work with many types of small businesses across the US.

This is a virtual internship where you can set your own hours. The position is unpaid but offers a great opportunity for learning, networking and resume-building. You will learn marketing strategies to market a small business in the US.

We currently have 2 positions open.

The first is related to creating and syndicating content related to marketing and advertising industry. Content topics will include marketing plans, social media strategies, advertising, video marketing and other marketing strategies for small businesses.

The second is for creating and syndicating content for our growing base of clients in the party/event rental & management industry (equipment rentals, party planners, wedding planners, catering and other event related businesses).

This opportunity is open to those seeking hands on experience. If you need college credit for your internship we are willing to work with your school and academic advisor to assist you in obtaining credit.

Responsibilities:

- Article writing and distribution
- Press release writing and syndication
- Collecting and maintaining a database of media contacts
- Researching and contacting new media and blogging contacts
- Blogging
- Updating blogs by using Wordpress
- Reporting your activities and daily work to our company

Qualifications:

Interns applying for this internship should be Public Relations, Marketing, Business, Journalism, News Media or Communications majors with experience on the Web.

Must be a dedicated, responsible, creative, articulate, personable and an organized self-starter. The applicant should possess excellent writing and communications skills, be detail oriented and be able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.

- Proactive go-getter with an entrepreneurial spirit, high energy, fun, positive can-do attitude and work-ethic that is hands-on

- Ability to do cold calls and emails to media and bloggers

- Pitching/following-up with media
- Candidate will work in a highly confidential environment and must maintain confidentiality at all times.
-Honesty, hard work (doing your best) and willingness to learn (we will put a lot on you to learn).
- Knowledge/prior experience in marketing/PR a plus – but not required
- 10-15 hours per week
