Description:

We are looking for an intern interested in learning all aspects of the public relations field. The intern who fills this position should expect to learn the field a business perspective. Its essential that applicants to this position have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details. The intern will be working with other PR Interns, and will be able to work remotely from school. The person we bring on board will have the option to travel locally as needed.

-Monitor all forms of media
-Write press releases and other materials for our company and our clients
-Draft articles and biographies
-Build relationships with location media
-Create interview preparation materials
-Prepare media and press kits for upcoming events
-Compile contact lists
-Attend network events sought out by the company
-Seek network events to attend on behalf of the company
-Represent the company at all times
-Communicate magazines, online radio stations and an other media outlets.

Qualifications:

Students applying for this internship must have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Journalism, though other majors can apply. Applicants should also have strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media. The intern must be able to dedicate 2 hours a day (10 hours a week) to the internship. Although this in an unpaid internship, company will reimburse for gas when traveling and attendance to networking events are necessary. Travel must be approved by the CEO. Must be comfortable communicating in person with other professionals.
