Job Summary:
MedEvac Foundation International seeks a Special Events/Communications intern to assist with special events and the creation of written fundraising materials. Candidate must be energetic, a team player, possess a unique blend of talents and have an interest in philanthropy. The intern will be aiding the development of our programs such as Family Grant Fund and Pioneer Partners and events such as Hero Retrieval and Rock ‘n Play. The intern will report to the Development Assistant.

Tasks Include:
• Provides assistance with special events especially Hero Retrieval and Rock ‘n Play, including pre-planning, mailings, and meetings
• Drafts short writing assignments such as acknowledgement letters, weekly newsletter articles, annual report articles, Pioneer Partner profiles and customized short correspondence with donors
• Proofreads other development colleagues documents as requested
• Follows-up with Family Grant Fund recipients and collects stories and photos
• Facilitates gift acknowledgements, quickly and promptly
• Assists in the production and distribution of newsletters, reports, and other communications materials to donors and supporters
• Assists with researching prospective donors and preparing briefing materials
• Submits requests for office supplies to the Office Manager

Qualifications:

• Excellent writing skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint and Web-based searches
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite is a plus, but not mandatory
• Detail oriented with ability to multitask
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal; personable and outgoing. Excellent phone manner
• Knowledge of social media sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
• Capacity to take initiative, prioritize duties, and work independently while functioning as a member of a team
