This company creates uniquely African Felt and Fused Natural Fibre Accessories, designed and hand crafted bytalented artisans at their Cape Town Studio.The designs reflect the beauty of Africa and quirky, original designs and innovative manufacturing techniques createopportunities for deserving young crafters.
The company operates according to fair trade principles, supplying sustainable work in a business environment. The felt is handmade and hand dyed from South African Merino and Karakul wool. No azo dyes are used, and jewellery is nickel-free.
The pieces have been exhibited on Innovative Threads, a juried international fibre art exhibition. In 2005, they werethe recipient of an Elle Decoration Design Award and the company became a Cape Craft Icon in 2007, in recognition of their contribution to craft and the upliftment of impoverished communities in the Western Cape. They were also selected to exhibit on the Cape Craft and Design Exhibition 2009 and 2010and they supply South African trade outlets, and export to discerning customers in USA, Canada, Europe, Scandinavia, Botswana, Namibia, Australia and Japan.
As an intern you will gain really good experience in a small manufacturing environment, be involved in every aspect of the business and be involved in a business which deals with underprivileged people.
Duties would include, but are not limited to: Taking of and write up of orders and invoices Assisting the production controller with: Issuing of raw materials into production Staff related queries Calculation of wages Petty cash write up Customer payment follow up Packing of goods for delivery and ensuring courier collection Ad hoc customer queries Order and collection of stock Through this internship you will gain excellent experience in Management and Business Administration and work along-side talented South African individuals.
Qualifications:
-Background in either Business Administration, Marketing or Production -Hardworking, motivated all rounder individual
-Enjoy team work and would like to make a significant contribution to the company.
-Enjoy being in a creative environment
