The company was first registered as a subsidiary of Control Instruments Group Ltd in 1999. The first device connectivity product, the E88, emerged to provide banks with an effective method of connecting ATM Machines to their Ethernet networks.
Since then, a range of products has been developed to service the growing networking and communication market verticals in Telemetry, Process Control/Industrial Automation, Building Automation and Access Control. They have worked in association with companies like Schneider Automation, and Hirschmann Electronics to produce products specifically designed for the Industrial Automation and Industrial Ethernet markets.
Looking towards the future and guided by customer requirements, the company foresees growth by continued focus on network control technologies including wireless, switching, power over Ethernet and the emerging convergence technologies.
The company has been certificated in terms of ISO9001:2000 since 2000.

Qualifications:

1. Software Developer
A graduate student who will be involved in the development of embedded networking devices based around an ARM9 processor. You should have good practical experience with the C programming language, and programming for the Linux operating system. As an intern you should have good understanding of TCP/IP networking and the application level
protocols (Telnet, SNMP, HTTP, PPP, etc), and experience of developing kernel-level drivers for Linux (or other operating systems) will be beneficial.

2. Application Developer
Development of customer-focused applications based on the company’s Smart Device Server technology. This will involve developing applications in their embedded scripting language. User-interfaces are web-based and are developed mainly using HTML and JavaScript. Experience in Macromedia Flash, Java applets and other client-side web technologies will be beneficial.
You should also have an understanding of basic networking, specifically the TCP/IP protocols.

3. Test Engineer
A graduate student who will be involved in the testing of their embedded networking products. You will be involved in the development of test applications that run on the embedded device, as well as test applications that run on Windows and Linux-based systems. As an intern you should have experience with the C (preferably) or C++ programming languages, and the Linux operating system. You should also have an understanding of basic networking, specifically the TCP/IP protocols.
