Community Development
Description:
Plight of the Child Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization with the Objective, to fight against all forms of discrimination and abuse against children and to seek the general welfare of children in Ghana.
Their work motives stem from being a mouthpiece for abused children in our rural areas where they engage in various projects for children in such unfortunate positions.
Though relatively a small organization, Mr. Bill Graham and his team have contributed a lot with some Projects like their Financial Sensitization Workshop where parents were taught some ways they could contribute their children’s education and also the roles of religious leaders in education. Their recent ended March GLOBAL VILLAGE project in Ofoase and Ejura was aimed at enlightening the selected school children to the cultures and economies of different countries in the world.
POCI researches some the subtle forms of abuse and educate and sensitize the community on how to react to these situations with their Rights in place. Another Project is trying to increase the current devastating low school enrollment in Akyemansa district in the Eastern corridor of Ghana as well as Ejurajin in the heart of the Sekyereduase district.
They currently need assistance in a series of Projects which are in the pipeline yet to be implemented in order for them to be realized as one of the leading organizations that genuinely seeks the welfare of children.
