Photography Summer Intern

As part of its mission to foster a sense of global responsibility among the next generation of U.S. leaders and consumers, Mercado Global accepts a limited number of U.S. students as interns at our Panajachel, Guatemala offices. The internship offers the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of an international non-profit organization while becoming familiar with the growing Fair Trade industry.

The photography intern should have earned or be currently pursuing a degree in photography. He/She will work under the Director of Design to help manage our photo library, edit and prepare photographs so that they are ready to be included in digital and print media promotional materials (e.g. lookbooks, brochures and product catalogs). The intern will also help photograph production and final product.

Qualifications:

Strong organizational skills required. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator required. Must have access to photography equipment and editing software. Proficiency in Spanish highly preferred. Experience and/or knowledge of fashion industry or marketing preferred.
