Web Developer WonderCompany Information: e-patchesandcrests.com is an online company providing fun activity and custom embroidered patches to Girl Guides, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Our vision is to become a one-stop resource center for all things Guiding/Scouting.
Internship Description: You will help create a new module for an existing Web site. Working directly with the current Webmaster, gain valuable experience working with a full-fledged site. You will help create and test new code using HTML, CSS, and jQuery. Depending on aptitude and skill, there is PHP and MySQL code work available.
Learn how to design, implement, unit test, and debug the module. You will also learn web application architecture, and develop an understanding of how coding decisions will affect performance, and usability. Some research will be required to ensure the new module is as easy to use as possible. Learning outcomes will include:
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and jQuery
• Research Strategies
• Web application architecture

• Creating agendas
• Writing meeting summaries

Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate: You are an enthusiastic person who wants to learn the inner workings of creating and maintaining a web site. We are looking for applicants with a strong educational background in either Mathematics, Science or Business related subjects, with an aptitude for computing. You will also have an understanding of technology and how it supports business, but most of all, you are really serious about becoming a professional web developer, and ideally have experience writing code.You also need to have the ability to analyze information, evaluate software products, and solve problems. You will be interested in precision work to test, correct and refine software applications, to ensure the module meets original design specifications.
