Internship Description: The primary responsibility of our Public Relations/Social Media Guru internship is to keep our social media channels active and up to date. You will have direct access to all social media accounts including Facebook and Twitter allowing you to post pictures, messages, and possibly videos to followers. You will also be directly involved with our Indiegogo campaign (ending late October), actively communicating with contributors by sending thank you messages and progress updates. Along with keeping our social media presence up-to-date, you will complete follow up tasks and emails with media outlets and other influencers as well as become involved in developing new techniques to expand our online presence. Some of the skills you will take from with internship are:
• Mastery of social media outlets • Writing meeting summaries
• Business writing • Critical thinking skills
• Creating agendas • Communication skills

Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate: Passion and enthusiasm for social media and public relations are important! You must have excellent writing and communication skills and be proficient with technology – email, internet, MS Office and willing to use online collaboration websites such as Basecamp. An intermediate understanding of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. is also an asset to this internship as a basis to build upon.You are organized, able to multi-task, work independently; reliable, punctual and able to attend phone meetings once a week. Having been or still a Girl Guide / Girl Scout / Boy Scout member is desirable but not necessary.
