Events Intern

We are looking for an Events and Marketing Intern to assist our events and marketing team in delivering and marketing our events. ACEVO holds 100-150 events per year, including conferences, professional development training and policy roundtables. This internship offers an opportunity to assist in the development and delivery of a range of projects.

Duties/Responsibilities

• attending events, courses and conferences
• helping with all pre and post event administration
• dealing with phone and email enquiries and taking bookings
• providing high quality customer service to senior leaders of the voluntary sector and high profile individuals
• issuing invoices/refunds and chasing outstanding amounts
• venue searches
• sending out event communications (instructions, welcome packs, etc)
• preparing delegate packs and badges for events
• working with the marketing team to develop marketing plans
• researching new marketing opportunities and drafting marketing text
• working with the designer on flyers and promotional materials
• updating the events section of the website
• researching speakers and content
• Conduct high-quality research into a wide variety of policy areas relevant to third sector chief executives, including Government policy and third sector leaders’ views on those policies

Person Specification

• Professional demeanour, highly motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn
• Good administrative, organisational and multitasking skills are essential
• A good team player with a professional manner
• Good Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communications skills
• Advanced English with impeccable grammar and language skills
• Knowledge of using database programmes would be an advantage
