EduCARE India is an Indian NGO created in 1994 and working towards social and sustainable development. The NGO is implanted in several rural villages of Northern India with approximately 7 other interns in each village.The ASP (After School Program) is based on informal and alternative education and is designed to provide recreational activities for children (ages varying from 6 to 14 years old) in the local area during school hours or after school hours that usually involves games or crafts combined with an educational activity. The games are often focused around positive recreation, life skills, learning. The main purpose of the ASP is to educate the children on social and environmental issues and other topics indirectly related to those issues, to make them become responsible global citizens.
Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
• Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for individual project and the NGO strategy plan.
• Assess educational needs of children: teach them on social and environmental is-sues or on indirectly related topics (geography, English, biology, etc.).
• Produce the required documentation during your internship (it will be explained during the induction).
• Define goals and objectives of your project and manage all aspects of it.
• Supporting the development of the Young Women’s Association.
• Contribute to a dynamic atmosphere of innovation.Skills:
• Flexibility and self-motivation.
• Ability to work both on your own and as part of an international team.
• Ability to multitask and organize your work under minimal supervision and limited resources.
• Strong communications skills.
• Interest and motivation to collaborate with community and team members.
• Creative, open minded and positive manner facing challenges and unexpected events.
