Bridging Nations Foundation is a nonprofit, policy organization based in Washington, D.C. that promotes shared prosperity by developing international dialogue through collaboration and learning. Bridging Nations Foundation is currently focusing on our ongoing commitment to higher education, workforce development, and skills development.

The semester project will revolve around skills development research, focused on community colleges. Community colleges in the US are known to train and skill for community needs. They are able to acknowledge and respond to labor demands easier and quicker than 4-year institutions. The project will consist of data collection and analysis from community colleges starting in the states of interest- VA, MD, DC, NY, FL, but will expand nationwide. Ultimately, what skills are most needed in a particular area/state and how can this be brought to the attention of lawmakers to address the issues pertaining to the skills gap?

Data collection and cleaning
Data analysis (descriptive statistics required, advanced stats preferred)
Present and communicate data analytical results
Draft white papers
Help with administrative tasks
Event preparations for seminars


Knowledge or strong interest in education policy
Degree in public policy, statistics or related field
Research project experience required; experience with research plan drafting would be very helpful
Excel required, other stats programs preferred (e.g. STATA, SPSS, SAS, R)
Attention to details
3.5 GPA or higher
Be able to commit at least 20 hrs a week (preferably 3 days a week)
