Vallone for New York is currently accepting applications for its paid canvass and internship program in the Queens Borough President Race.

The Internship: This internship program is a great first step for those considering a career in electoral politics. As an important part of the campaign’s field program, interns will be trained on all of keys aspects of direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment, event building, data management, and Get-Out-The-Vote operations. Interns will partner with staff to help lead volunteer teams in direct voter contact.

Interns will be responsible for assisting the campaign in the following ways:
Engaging in direct voter contact activities including volunteer recruitment, canvassing and visibility
Researching, building, executing and attending events and parties
Meeting goals given by staff (ie door knocks, phone calls, etc.)
Conducting research and managing campaign data
Contributing to ballot petition collection
Training volunteers
Other Tasks as Needed

Interns have the opportunity to become part of our paid canvass program. Here, the intern will be extensively trained in direct voter contact, specifically door-to-door canvassing, and will be compensated.

This is a non-paid position, though successful interns will be the first candidates to be considered for paid positions. The campaign will work with interns to receive school credit when applicable.

Applicants should be enthusiastic about electing Peter Vallone Jr. as the new Queens Borough President.
Hardworking, mature, reliable, and possessing a strong desire to learn new skills.
Goal-oriented and metrics-driven
A team player
A connection to Queens is a definite plus but not a prerequisite. Access to a laptop and reliable transportation are also a plus. Bi-lingual applicants are a definite plus.
