The Huntington Breast Cancer Action Coalition (HBCAC) is seeking a dynamic self-starter who isnt afraid of tackling projects. we are looking for an individual who is eager for an opportunity to provide support to a busy President by coordinating its office operations and administrative procedures. HBCAC Is a not-for-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the ultimate eradication of breast cancer through education and awareness. Our mission is to focus on prevention methods while actively helping those who are faced with a positive diagnosis.Since 1992, HBCAC has forged accessible pathways of involvement in the complex issue of breast health. Those pathways include: Awareness, Education, Advocacy, Community Involvement and Support. As an intern you will get to work on a variety of projects that will help us grow and interact with a pool of dedicated volunteers. Our ideal candidate will be energetic, organized and be able to respond to base level troubleshooting issues. The Office Manager position is an unpaid internship, working four hours a day, Monday - Friday and reports directly to the President.The position is based in Melville, NY

The Office Manager will: Provide general office support by maintaining administrative and clerical functions, routinely handle and respond to internal and external inquiries by screening calls, reading email communication and redirecting to appropriate personnel, manage the organization’s communication and follow-up with volunteers, executives and program partners, prepare correspondence and act as liaison between HBCAC President and a variety of outside contacts , coordinate meetings, manage Executive calendar

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Office Manager position possesses: high energy level and ability to take ownership and initiative to accomplish work effectively, excellent written and oral communication skills, clearly demonstrated problem solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, ability to be self-motivated, organized, ability to prioritize and manage deadlines for multiple projects, proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, a strong commitment to Public Health issues.

11am-3pm, Monday-Friday
