Description:

The Public Relations Intern will play a key role within the marketing and communications division at CoLabination, developing our brand identity and securing strategic relationships with brands, businesses, key individuals, and organizations. This is a highly entrepreneurial position with room for expansion.

Internships are often a semester or yearlong, unpaid, but with the option to receive college credit. Interns are not limited to a time constraint, in fact, we encourage you to stay as long as you would like and potentially become a full-time employee.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategic PR programs to achieve significant increases in brand awareness
• Build and maintain relationships with strategic targets
• Identify key media outlets suited for CoLabination
• Cultivate relationships with key business journalists in national and trade publications
• Pitch stories to both national and local media. Achieve highest visibility for in print, broadcast, TV and online media outlets
• Identify media trends, news cycles and spin opportunities

Qualifications:

Requirements/Qualifications:
• 2-4 years relevant experience in public relations and communications is a plus
• Strong network of B2B, national business and trade media contacts
• Established relationships with general business, consumer and entertainment trade press/analyst/blogger communities
• Proven successes in both traditional and interactive PR channels
• Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy
• A strong-sense of teamwork and ability to both manage AND execute programs
• Knowledge of international publications and opportunities is a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Other Skills:
• Proficiency with basic computer and PR applications Google Docs and MS Office Apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Additional technology prowess given priority (WordPress, video-blogging)
• Avid follower of industry news, trends, magazines, entertainment, and pop culture
• Avid consumer of news, politics, entertainment and pop culture
• Strong personal interest in entrepreneurship, business issues or communication
