Location: New York, NY
Hours/Days Per Week: 3 days/week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Length of Assignment: Three Months, starting in September, 2013
Preferred Degree: Psychology, Sociology, or EducationInternship Description: The purpose of this internship is to assist with increasing the number of listings in targeted categories of the Autism Speaks’ Resource Guide by researching and submitting local resources for each state.
The Resource Guide is a nationwide database that contains over 51,000 resources and provides individuals and families with local resources that service a variety of needs from early intervention through adult care. It is one of the largest databases of autism resources and service providers in the U.S., searchable by state or by zip code. Resources are organized in over 75 categories.
Qualifications:
Related Skills and Knowledge
• Experience or interest in Human Services or Communications field
• Superb organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to research information; work independently, but also as a team member
• Ability to respond in a timely way to staff changing priorities
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
