Share |

Company/Organization: Droit et Justice

Description:

Droit et Justice seeks a motivated, creative, and organized individual to assist the association in its ongoing work to promote the Rule of Law and improve access to justice in Morocco. The position would be at the Droit et Justice offices in central Casablanca (Gauthier district).

Responsibilities
Your work will include participating in: developing new projects, drafting and editing grant proposals, meeting with partners and donors, and organizing Droit et Justice events. This may include travel to major Moroccan cities for conferences and meetings and to rural areas for legal aid and awareness campaigns. Because Droit et Justice is a small grassroots organization, interns are encouraged to take initiative in developing new project proposals and sharing ideas with the Executive Director and the President of the association.

Logistics and Benefits
We are currently seeking an intern to begin starting the 15th of August 2013, but we accept applications on a rolling basis and are happy to discuss the length and timing of the internship with individual applicants. This is an unpaid internship, but the Association is happy to assist qualified applicants who are seeking fellowships or other financial support. Interns will have the opportunity to learn more about the justice system and legal reform efforts in Morocco, a country that still struggles with corruption, limited freedom of expression, and poverty, among other problems. Interns will also gain valuable experience in nonprofit management and will learn to navigate the challenges of working in a developing country in the North Africa region. Please direct any questions to sofia@droitetjustice.org.

Qualifications:

Droit et Justice is seeking applicants who are interested in human rights and Rule of Law issues. Applicants must be fluent in either English or French, with a working knowledge of both languages. Knowledge of Arabic is also preferred. Although a legal background would be helpful in this position, it is not required.
