POSITION SUMMARY
The Global Peace Event Manager (Intern) focuses on holistic strategic global and local partnerships for development and social change in Indian society. By creating village networks, university and college programs as well as global partnerships like e.g. Global peace days and weeks, conferences etc. in cooperation with North Indian Universities of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate degree required, preferably related to international development, international affairs, peace studies etc. or alternatively an education on peace work, international training and/ or mediation.

Experience: Peace work, Event Management and International living experience of minimum 6 month.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Creating Global Peace Events in Corporation with Universities and Colleges
Designing Educational Peace Strategies
Occasional travel required.

Required knowledge:

Event Management skills
Peace work and related knowledge on International Human rights, peace training etc.
Cultural and self-awareness
Concepts of communication, culture and personality
First expertise and experiences (familiarity) with Indian culture

Skills and Abilities:

Experience in the inter-cultural field
Exceptional presentation and written communication skills
Nonjudgmental attitude
Unbiased view
Good analytical abilities
High tolerance levels
Outstanding multi-tasking, organizational and management skills
English

You don’t need necessarly to have years of experience to become an InGlobed Intern or Volunteer but you will need to have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and the capacity to work in a multi-cultural dynamic work place towards global awarness and global change.
As an Intern, you will live and work in an authentic rural community in India, learn or teach about global education, awareness and development, add valuable work experience to your CV and make a significant contribution to InGlobed as a meaningful global citizen.

International interns, volunteers and young leader are essential to InGlobed. Our interns, volunteers and leaders bring passion, innovation, hard work and, most importantly, their personal skills and experience.

Costs and Benefits

Course credit (when required)
Real-world international work experience in a multi-cultural team

Cultural and workplace induction and training
Mentoring and support from a dedicated onsite Intern Coordinator
Accommodation (at Intern House) including bedding, utilities, internet access, hot water and kitchen facilities.
Long-term interns (12-24 months) will receive a small living stipend after 9 months service
*Please note that flights, visa costs, insurance and travel costs associated with getting from the airport to InGlobed in Himachal Pradesh are not included.

Fees:

InGlobed is self-sustaining organisation still its infancy, while we do not charge weekly or monthly fees to participate, we do ask our interns and volunteers to pay a one-off administration and legal fee prior to arrival. This fee helps the organisation to cover the costs of running an international internship and volunteer program, including local legal fees, facilities, staffing costs and recruitment. We do not make a profit from your fees nor do the fees pay for the academic programs that we offer. They simply cover the cost of hosting interns and volunteers.
