Grassroots Microfinance and Self-Help Group Project Manager

Share |

Company/Organization: MicroEmpowerED

Description:

The Project Manager’s role is to innovate and manage one or more projects that can fall within a variety of areas. Some projects focus on grassroots micro-finance and economic self-help, whilst others are geared towards academic or health education. There is also a cluster of projects focusing on gender issues. We are currently searching for interns to work on finance projects, which can include grassroots micro-finance, financial literacy classes, or setting up self-help groups.

The Project Manager works closely with the Program Coordinator to monitor and evaluate projects and their resource needs, ensuring that their projects fit with the overall aim, mission and values of the organization. They are responsible for updating Project Manuals, as well as doing applicable research, surveys and documentation in collaboration with an Assistant Project Manager. Additionally, Project Managers should frequently be in direct contact with their project beneficiaries; for example, teaching classes, running activities, and generally maintaining a sense of open communication and collaboration.

There is a large amount of flexibility in our organisation and we believe that creative and new approaches to problems are needed to cause a real and sustainable impact, thus the Project Manager is encouraged to innovate new projects where they see a need and have an idea for a solution.

We currently have projects in both Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, with planned expansion to Rajasthan.
